Barton's a flop for Hughton

NEWCASTLE manager Chris Hughton admitted his side had problems after seeing them lose 2-1 at Norwich.

But he insisted his men would sort things out for the Premier League.

Hughton handed starts to Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan, key men in the Championship title surge, only to see them over-run in midfield by the League One champions.

It was only when they were replaced at half-time that Newcastle revived.

Norwich went ahead through Chris Martin in the first half before Hughton's flood of changes paid off.

Substitutes Wayne Routledge and Spanish striker Xisco set up Shola Ameobi, another replacement, but Chanel Shoes Martin settled matters with his second goal.

Hughton said: 'The nucleus of the squad will be the same but we are aware we need to add to it and hopefully we will.'
