Report For Pa.'s Table Games R

Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Plains Township reported the lowest gross revenue from table games among the state's nine casinos for July, according to a report released Thursday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

According to the report, Mohegan Sun brought in $1,260,653 in gross revenue from 62 table games in July, the first month that table games debuted. The casino added 20 more table games in a non- smoking room outside the new Penny Grove slot room and Bar Louie last Thursday.

Bobby Soper, president and CEO of Mohegan Sun, said the lower citizen diving watch numbers were caused by having "some big winners at our property during July, which is bad luck for us but good luck for our players."

"That's the nature of table games," Soper said.

Slots play increased at Mohegan Sun about 6 percent in July amid the addition of table games, Soper said. According to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, slots revenue increased from about $19.78 million in July last year to nearly 21.16 million in July this year at Mohegan Sun.

Mount Airy Casino Resort in Paradise Township ranked third in the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's table games revenue report for July, bringing in $2,028,827 in Replica Watches gross revenue from 72 table games.

Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh brought in the most gross revenue of the nine table games in the state in July: $3,052,531 for its 85 table games. Parx Casino in Bensalem ranked second with $2,328,599 in gross revenue.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released the revenue report on its Web site. It represents just a partial month of revenue since implementation of table games did not occur until the middle and later parts of July.

In addition to providing gross revenue figures, the report also includes taxes generated during each casino's test period monitored by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board and held two days prior to the opening of table games.

According to the report, $284,036 in state taxes and $40,577 in local taxes were generated from Mount Airy and $176,491 in state taxes and $25,213 in local taxes were generated from Mohegan Sun.

The test periods provided an opportunity for the nine casinos to donate revenue to charities. Mohegan Sun donated $12,069.54 to the United Way of Wyoming Valley and Mount Airy Casino Resort donated $9,431.52 to Friendship House and St. Joseph Center.

Statewide, the 624 table games at the nine casinos across the state generated $17,539 in gross revenue, according to the report.
