IT'S a much-loved Tyneside landmark that has been the backdrop for numerous TV shows and films.
People marvel at The Gateshead Millennium Bridge's engineering and its stunning design attracts fans from around the world.

People love to watch the award-winning "Blinking Eye Bridge" open and from today until September 5 they will have the chance to see it perform the famous tilt.
Gateshead Council is arranging the 12pm daily openings following the huge number of people who came to witness summer tilts in previous years.
"Watching an opening of the Gateshead Millennium Bridge is an awe inspiring sight and one which we know enthrals everyone from local residents to visitors from the other side of the world," said Gateshead Council cabinet member Coun Linda Green "By having a set time each day for opening it means that everyone has the chance to plan in a visit to see the Gateshead Millennium Bridge tilt whilst visiting Gateshead Quays."
Sightseers visiting Tyneside will be able to witness the unique 800 tonne foot and cycle bridge in action.
The noon opening time has been chosen as it coincides with the time the bridge is regularly opened for passing River Tyne traffic so minimising extra disruption for pedestrians and river traffic.
Each opening and closing takes four-and-a-half minutes.
"The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is one of our region's Sexy Camisoles most iconic landmarks and over the past eight years it has become recognised across the world," said Carol Bell, head of culture and major events for Newcastle-Gateshead Initiative.

In 2008, when the first year when the scheduled tilts took place more than 30,000 people flocked to see the iconic structure perform its trademark rotation.
Since its Royal opening in 2002, the bridge has picked up a number of accolades including the Stirling Prize and is internationally recognised as a symbol of the area's regeneration.
