Several readers chimed in with comments after we posted a story about the Office of the State Auditor placing the Taos Municipal School District under special monitoring following the release of an audit showing weaknesses in the district's internal financial controls. The following are comments from readers. In no way do they represent the view of The Taos News.

"Appears a lot of questionable accounting practices happened from 2003 to 2006 and not so Replica Ebel Watches much after 2007," "Tabanus"wrote June 12. "From 2003 to 2006 big time contracts were awarded without bids, oversight of contracts was lax, equipment was unaccounted for, improper selling of district property happened, erroneous bookkeeping entries sexy lingerie were made, etc. Clearly the business manager and superintendent during that time were not competent and crimes may have been committed. We ought to find out the facts and those responsible should be held accountable.

"So this is what the School Board was doing," "rdt-60" wrote June 13. "Trying to hold people accountable, with the resistance of the administration office personnel. It all falls together. Where are all the comments from those supporting the school board?"

"Apparently the concerted local media campaign against the school board does not concern itself with inconvenient facts," "Jihm" wrote June 14.

"It is interesting that some of the initial Moss Adams allegations, not listed in this article, indicated that lavish retreats with lobster dinners were also happening, when there was absolutely no proof of such, and certifiable evidence to the contrary," "activeparent" wrote June 16.
